HMD Labs announces Skyflow partnership

Health Tech up-and-comer and data privacy API company combine expertise to bring privacy, security, and compliance to intelligent medical devices

November 10, 2021 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) -- San Francisco-based HMD Labs, a provider of a complete and fully customizable data platform built to meet the specific needs of intelligent medical device startups, announced today its partnership with Skyflow, the leading customer data privacy company.

The partnership will enhance the ability to provide secure, HIPAA-compliant patient privacy methods in healthcare technology. Through this relationship, HMD Labs will combine its expertise in medical device development with Skyflow’s Healthcare Data Privacy Vault, which securely handles sensitive healthcare data via an API. “We’re excited to move into this next phase of secure technology for our customers. Data privacy vaults allow health tech companies to seamlessly and securely collect, protect, and share their data, while preserving patients’ privacy and

ensuring regulatory compliance,” said Brian Greene, co-founder and chief technology officer. “Skyflow has built a zero trust data vault that any health IT company can put into production in a few days. Development teams can build a Skyflow vault into their apps at the data layer. It’s a perfect match for our products.”

HMD Labs, the developers of the NeuronSphere™ suite of components, tools and SaaS Services, delivers intelligent medical device startups a comprehensive and cost-effective data architecture platform. Additionally, the company allows startups to implement and license its platform incrementally, ensuring the cost and complexity of their data environment never outpaces their funding stage.

Skyflow’s Healthcare Data Privacy Vault is a zero trust data vault designed specifically for protected health information (PHI). The vault is delivered as a cloud API, allowing healthcare software teams to innovate more rapidly without worrying about patient privacy, data security, HIPAA, or other regulatory concerns. Leveraging its unique polymorphic encryption approach, Healthcare Vault's customizable data schema supports the 18 regulated data types specifically identified by the HIPAA law and automatically ensures compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, and emerging regulations.

“We urgently need more innovations from the health tech industry, but not without patient privacy at its core,” said Anshu Sharma, CEO and co-founder at Skyflow. “Our Healthcare Vault with HMD Labs’ suite lets health tech and device developers build, while their data privacy, security, and compliance are handled. We’re looking forward to this win-win partnership.”

About Skyflow

Founded in 2019, Skyflow is a data privacy vault for sensitive data. Our founders wanted to radically transform how businesses handle their users’ financial, healthcare, and other personal data -- the data that powers the digital economy. Inspired by the data vaults that leaders like Apple and Netflix built to handle customer data, our vision was to deliver the same kind of data privacy vault as a simple and elegant API, something any developer could easily build into their application, the same way they use Stripe, Twilio, or Okta. Skyflow is based in Palo Alto, California, with offices in Bangalore, India. For more information, visit http://www.skyflow.com or follow on Twitter and LinkedIn.
